Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity Loses Lead Early in Defeat
Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-2 loss to Westerville South on Thursday.
The Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Westerville South, giving up 12 runs.
In the first inning, Westerville South got their offense started.
Westerville South scored five runs in the sixth inning. Westerville South’s big inning was driven by singles by J Orr and C James, a groundout by M Price, and by M Faulkner.
M Shoemaker was the winning pitcher for Westerville South. Shoemaker went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out eight and walking zero.
Kendall Timms took the loss for Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity. The bulldog allowed 13 hits and 12 runs over six innings, striking out three.
Morgan Beals led Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity with two hits in three at bats. Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Sutton Evans had the most chances in the field with six.
Westerville South totaled 13 hits. K Williams, Orr, L Swanson, and S Mays all managed multiple hits for Westerville South. Williams went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Westerville South in hits.
